DESCRIPTION:Glimmer of Light is a reflective evening for those bereaved by suicide. \nWe offer a quiet and reflective space for remembrance\, solidarity and healing\, so people are not alone in their thoughts. We’ll watch the sunset together\, and each of us will have the opportunity to light a lantern\, illuminating the darkness surrounding suicide. \nWe’ll reflect on the lives lost to suicide and the impact it has on individuals and communities worldwide. While the event may be emotional\, it’s also a space to be together in our shared experience\, talk about suicide openly and explore ways to support those in need. \nGuests are encouraged to contribute to the evening with a poem\, a story or a song which may hold significance to them. \nThis is an annual event run in partnership with Sunflowers Suicide Support in the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of Bristol Memorial Woodlands. \nGlimmer of Light offers: \n\nA Time of Reflection: Take a moment to pause and reflect on the lives lost to suicide and the impact it has on individuals and communities worldwide.\nTogether in Silence: We will gather in a moment of silence\, standing united in our determination to prevent suicide and support those affected.\nSunset Watch: As the sun sets on the horizon\, we’ll witness the beauty of nature’s transition\, reminding us that even in the darkest moments\, there is hope for a new day.\nLighting the Darkness: Each participant will have the opportunity to light a lantern\, symbolising our collective effort to bring light and hope to the issue of suicide.\nA Safe Space for Conversation: While this event may be emotionally charged\, it’s also a platform to discuss suicide openly\, share experiences\, and explore ways to support those in need.\nCreative Expression: If you would like to contribute to the evening’s atmosphere with a poem\, a story\, or a song from our playlist that holds significance for you\, please reach out. Your words and emotions are valued.\n\nRSVP: While this event is open to all\, we require all attendees to register and notify how many cars will be brought. Please ensure any additional people wanting to attend register first using the link below. \nChild Supervision: Children are welcome to join\, but please be aware that this event deals with sensitive topics related to suicide.
